Climb Companion — app and Plus subscription terms of use
By using Climb Companion ("the app") you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not accept them, you must not use the app. These terms apply together with the Privacy Policy and include, in Sections 7 and 9, the terms covering the exercises and training content you enter yourself in the app.
Climb Companion is an iOS app for tracking climbing projects, manually logged training sessions, and personal goals (Challenges). The app runs entirely on-device: it does not require an account and does not rely on any server operated by the developer. See the Privacy Policy for full details on how data is handled.
Some features are available for free. Climb Companion Plus is an optional in-app subscription that unlocks additional features (including grade pyramid and route/boulder analysis, advanced session analytics, and unlimited projects and training cards). Features included in Plus may evolve over time; substantial changes will be communicated through the app.
Climb Companion Plus is offered through the App Store as follows:
— Plus Monthly: €2.49/month, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the subscription automatically renews at the monthly price shown, unless the trial is turned off at least 24 hours before it expires.
— Plus Annual: €14.99/year, no free trial.
All subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged to your Apple ID account within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price confirmed at purchase or otherwise communicated in advance in case of a price change. Prices may vary by country based on Apple's pricing policies and currency conversion.
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. You can view, change, or cancel your subscription at any time from Settings ▸ [your name] ▸ Subscriptions on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are provided for the period already paid, except as provided by Apple's own refund policies, which Apple handles independently for all in-app purchase refund requests.
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Climb Companion on your own devices, for individual, non-commercial use, subject to these terms and Apple's standard App Store usage terms applicable to third-party apps. You may not copy, modify, decompile, distribute, or create derivative works from the app, except as expressly permitted by applicable law.
You retain ownership of the content you add to the app: photos, notes, projects, and in particular the exercises and training plans. In Climb Companion, exercises are not provided or curated by the developer: you create them yourself, name them, describe them, and optionally attach your own photo. The developer does not write, review, verify, or approve in any way the training content you enter (names, loads, sets, reps, notes): you are solely responsible for its accuracy, safety, and suitability for your fitness level. Since this data stays exclusively on your device, you are also solely responsible for keeping it safe: we recommend using the manual backup feature available in Settings before switching devices or uninstalling the app.
Climb Companion is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of fitness for a particular purpose or error-free operation. The app is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, physiotherapy, or personal-training advice. In particular, we do not warrant the accuracy, safety, or suitability of any exercise, load, or training plan entered by users, since such content is neither written nor reviewed by the developer: the app merely records it and shows you statistics and analytics based on what you enter.
Climbing and physical training carry an inherent risk of injury independent of the app: falls, overload, fatigue, conditions at the place where you train. By using Climb Companion you knowingly accept this risk as part of the activity you have chosen to practice. Since the exercises and training plans you use are created by you (Section 7), it is up to you to judge whether a load, progression, or exercise is appropriate for your fitness level: if you have pre-existing injuries, persistent pain, or particular health conditions, consult a doctor, physiotherapist, or qualified personal trainer before starting or continuing any training program, including one you enter in this app. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for injury, physical harm, or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use — or inability to use — the app or the exercises you enter in it. This limitation does not apply where the law does not allow such exclusion (in particular willful misconduct or gross negligence). Even where residual liability is not excluded, any amount owed will not exceed what you actually paid for Plus services in the 12 months preceding the claim — zero for users of the free version only.
These terms may be updated over time, for example to reflect new features or pricing changes. The updated version will always be published at this same address, with the last-updated date shown at the bottom of the page. Continued use of the app after a material update constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
These terms are governed by Italian law. For any dispute relating to the use of the app, the consumer's competent court under applicable law applies, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of the user's country of residence for users residing in the European Union.
For questions about these terms, you can write to [email protected].
